TH307HOL - Moving Learners From Knowing to Doing With Powerful, Practical Job Aids

Thu, Jan 12 | 2:15 PM - 4:30 PM | Neopolitan I

Session Description:
Come join us for this session and learn how to create one of the most valuable, yet underused, performance support tools: the powerful, practical job aid. Experienced professionals will receive reinforcement and reminders. Newcomers will walk away with time-tested tools and ideas for simplifying the challenging task of producing useful performance support tools. Everyone will have the opportunity to roll up their sleeves and practice. In the first part of the session, the speakers will explain what job aids are (and are not) and present a compelling case for using them. They'll offer a behind-the-scenes look at some outstanding real-world examples and introduce the seven steps they use to create world-class job aids for their clients. The bulk of the session will be spent applying these concepts and principles. Together, we'll rework a poorly designed job aid. And then, on your own, you'll create a blueprint for developing and maintaining a job aid relevant to your business. Recommendation: bring with you several ideas for job aids that you would like to create or improve.

Application on the Job:
Recognize an exemplary job aid.
Determine when to use a job aid in place of or as a component of a training course or talent development initiative.
Design and create an exemplary job aid.
